Catalyst Program

Children’s Home of Stockton’s Catalyst TAY Homeless Prevention for Youth Program includes (9) double occupancy rooms for homeless youth ages 18-24 years of age.

CHS TAY Coaches engage with the youth and coordinate robust services to assist youth into moving into permanent stable housing.

  • 24/7 staffed transitional housing located on the beautiful park-like CHS campus
  • Three fully furnished houses, includes: a laundry room, multiple bathrooms, large common areas, and a secure parking lot
  • Includes bedding, hygiene/toiletries, meals, clothing, & transportation assistance
  • Computer stations with Wi-Fi, printers for job search/resume, school, and other case plan related tasks
  • Basketball court, community garden, pool, gym, CafĂ©, CHS recreational events, and community activities
  • Assistance with job training and employment search
  • Assistance with academic plans for completion of high school, attainment of a GED, or college or trade school enrollment including financial aid resources
  • Life-skills training for independent living
  • Group and individual counseling
  • Case planning and setting transitional goals/plans for permanent housing
  • Ongoing staff support and mentorship
  • Assistance in obtaining necessary legal documents.
  • Assistance with family support
  • Aftercare support for up to 6 months after leaving the program
  • Referrals for continued counseling, mental-health intervention, or substance abuse treatment programs
  • Referrals to public health services, immigration services, domestic violence & sexual assault support, -human trafficking intervention services, parenting classes, or employment services

To be eligible, a person must be 18-24 years old and experiencing homelessness. They must be physically present and complete an application to be considered.

Youth experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness can self-refer for the Catalyst Program by completing and submitting the Catalyst application on the button below. Youth will be contacted within (3) business days. Space is limited and completion of an application does not guarantee admittance. Applications are received on a rolling basis.
